Groundwork

顺德，云鹭小镇，从高处看下去；天再冷，也有人在打地基，买下的，租来的，高高矮矮各自站稳，影子慢慢分出了长短。

Yunlu Town, Shunde, seen from above. However cold the season, someone is still laying foundations; bought or rented, tall or low, each finds its footing, and slowly their shadows fall long or short.

地基Groundwork

从高处看下去，一台小小的挖掘机，在空地上挖着。天有点冷，新厂房还是一栋一栋站起来。有人把脚下的地买下来，攥在手心；有人先借一段时光，看一看再说。高的，矮的，都不说话，各自守着各自的门。雾慢慢散开，高的矮的，影子有长有短，晒的是同一个太阳。

From up high,a little diggeris scooping at an empty lot.The air has turned a little cold,yet new factorieskeep standing up, one by one.Some buy the ground beneath their feetand hold it tight in their hands;some borrow a stretch of timeand wait to see.Tall ones, low ones,saying nothing,each keeping its own door.The haze lifts slowly.Tall and low,their shadows long and short,they share the same sun.
